In the same century, the computer era, industrial 3.0. It started from the last few decades before the end of 20th century. As there were new inventions from time to time (computer chips, programmable controller, etc), this is where more automation in production were used. The automated system in production line somehow slowly replace the use of human power. Although not fully, as they still need the help of human input on certain task.
Industrial 4.0, a new phase of industrial revolution. It started in the 21st century. This is where smart manufacturing were used. It connects the Internet of Things (IoT) with the manufacturing abilities. This is what we know now as Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). Aside from IIoT, industrial 4.0 is also known as the start of using Artificial Intelligence (AI), cloud service for data backup, online algorithm, anything related to information technology in manufacturing.
As the industry evolve from time to time, stage by stage for the industrial, overall production improves in the way of efficiency and effectiveness with the help of technologies. Certain programs or systems that has been developed since industrial 3.0 may not be able to execute or fully used due to the lack of technologies.
