How Does a Sound Level Meter Works?



A sound level meter is a measuring device used to assess noise or sound level by measuring sound pressure. It is often referred to as decibel (dB) meter, whereby it uses a microphone to capture the sound and measured by an acoustic measurement. Once the sound level has been measured, it will be shown on the screen of the sound level meter.


The sound level meter are usually used in noise pollution studies or at an atmosphere conducive enough for research and studies. The most common places to be used are in construction site or places that need to control noise pollution.


Sound level meter like ours, with a built-in microphone can be permanently installed for continuous monitoring of sound levels at a workplace or job site.
